NBVC is a major aviation shore command and a Naval construction force mobilization base. NBVC provides airfield, seaport and base support services to fleet operating forces and shore activities. Offering a unique combination of mission capabilities to the Navy and the Department of Defense (DoD). NBVC and its tenants directly employ more than 19,000 personnel (military and civilian) workers and is the largest employer in Ventura County. NBVC is home to more than 80 military commands (all military branches represented).

Crew Escapes Aircraft Crash at Point Mugu

The three crew members aboard an Omega Air Boeing 707 tanker that crashed on the evening of May 18 from Naval Base Ventura County (NBVC) Point Mugu escaped with minor injuries.

Unmanned Aircraft Completes Deployment

POINT MUGU, Calif. — The Navy’s Global Hawk Maritime Demonstration (GHMD) system successfully completed its first Navy deployment at Naval Base Ventura County (NBVC), Point Mugu. The unmanned aircraft system provides high-resolution, near real-time imagery and other sensor data for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR), operating at 60,000 feet, much higher than any other operational unmanned aircraft.

Naval Base Ventura County Earns Consecutive SECNAV Energy Awards

POINT MUGU, Calif (NNS) -- Naval Base Ventura County (NBVC) will be presented its second consecutive Platinum Level of Achievement for the Secretary of the Navy (SECNAV) Energy and Water Management Award Oct. 6 at the Navy Memorial in Washington, D.C.
